Barak Jadzeran

Lord Barak Jadzeran was a clan leader and general of the Golden Army, well-known as God-King Ishaal Khan's right hand and good friend. He was a tan gnoll with spots and a cropped brown mane, rather plain-looking compared to his king. His charisma and good standing was said to be the redemption of clan Jadzeran, which had fallen on hard times since the murder of Jadzeena Jadzeran over 100 years prior. However, upon his return after a successful campaign abroad, he met and befriended Ishaal's second wife, the Courtesan of the Gods Indira Ashtaar, who was pregnant with her first child Ishani Khan Ashtaar at the time. Over time, as Ishaal became distracted by politics, the two began an affair.
Barak and Indira's relationship was well-hidden, but when Indira began her second pregnancy Ishaal became suspicious. She and Barak planned to leave the city, but on the day they were to leave she went into labor and Ishaal stormed the Jadzeran estate, executing Barak and having his head placed on a pike outside Indira's window. Indira gave birth to Chandra Ralik, leaving the newborn with Peryani the Wise to be hidden.
After General Jadzeran's death, the clan went under further. The only surviving Jadzeran is Iäst Jadzeran, Barak's younger brother.
