Sorn Brachteysch (a.k.a. Sor)
A jeweler in his hands and soul, Sorn immigrated to Cirta as a young man after border conflicts between Sarkhaan and Ester Fal drove his people from their home on the border of the Forest of the Geas. Splitting off from his family, he traveled to the city to work as a fine jeweler, a passion that was largely useless in his native hunting community.
Sorn's ability as a precision metalworker is unparalleled in Talonn except for a select few makers of Mechanicals in Beré. His work goes for exorbitant prices in noble circles, and is instantly recognizable by any appraiser worth their salt.
In Cirta, Sorn met the much older Lady At Fangrys Eyel while establishing himself. The two quickly became friends, and later lovers, although their relationship was kept secret due to Lady At's status as a Silent Priesthood cleric. They had shared interests in poetry and art, sometimes traveling together to see certain pieces or go to musical performances in disguise. When At became Lady-in-Waiting, she made sure that Sorn would be notified in the event of her death. In 2758 Dawning, Abiyr Arsolum was tasked by Lady Shira Vas Otten to notify Sorn that Lady At had passed away.
Sorn's masterwork is a platinum and sapphire set he made for the Lady, including earrings, a necklace, bracelets, and a ring. The only piece At would carry with her was the ring, out of concern for her status, and gave it to Abiyr Arsolum before her death. There is an oil painting of the unveiled At wearing the set hanging in Sorn's shop, The Dusk Lady, which is named after her.

Identifying Characteristics
Sorn is a large minotaur firbolg with long, dark brown fur that covers his eyes. He has steer-like horns that curve out and upwards, and often wears very simple clothing covered by a smith's apron. The only piece of jewelry he wears is a simple gold band and chain around his left horn, which among firbolgs signifies that he is married.

Speech
Sorn speaks very slowly and deliberately, which to the ignorant may give him the appearance of being slow of thought. His voice, due to his size, is very deep and sonorous.

Nicknames & Petnames
The Lady playfully refers to Sorn as "Sor", and he has a multitude of epithets he uses for the Lady, mostly based on literary references.
