Astra - Article
Astra is a country with various landscape. Two large lakes are part of Astra. In the East it ends in the Eastern Peak, a large mountain range that divides Te'nuron.
History:
Astra was hit hard by the Revolution of Faith about 1500 years ago. When before the land was a religious fortress, after 100 years of necromancy and war, it resembled more of a wasteland. Astra was freed by a group of heroes that led Priests from all three faiths of the Triad into the heart of the darkness, where they were able to cleanse it. The country was rebuild and remodeled, still under the law of the Triad, even though Tyr had less grasp in the world. Only few priests survived the slaughter of Cyric's followers. Necromancy was extremely shunned for centuries - in a lot of regions even forbidden. In some regions it still is.Religion:
Before the Revolution of Faith, Astra was mainly filled with faith for the Triad. There was a church for each of them in every major city and the land flourished. After the Necromancers were defeated, the churches and faiths were build back up. Tyr vanished from the Pantheon, so did his faith on the Mortal Plane so it seemed. Instead of Tyr, the deities Helm and Sune started to gain more followers in Astra and by now have large churches in various cities.Politics:
Over the course of centuries the way of the Triad (Justice System) got lost. Astra - even though it was still built on faith - struggled with building itself back up. Astra had monarchs and dictators for most years from 150 RF to 1100 RF, until the ways of the Triad was brought back by a couple of priests. Since then, politics is divided into Law, Military and Religion again. Every major city in Astra has three representatives that take part in Astra's council. There are only smaller towns in the south, which is why the south works hard to be heard by the council at all and gain seats in the council too, so the North doesn't make decisions about the regions in the south they don't even know.
