Abandoned: The Ildathach Faith

This faith was founded by the High Elves to worship their ancestors, the Light Elves, in Ildathach. They believe that their ancestors not only ascended to a higher power but also ascended to godhood. The reason why the light elves ascended into godhood was to reject the morals and attitudes of the Empyrean Gods and create Ildathach instead to dwell.
The ascended light elves are still worshipped throughout Hyl'dora as the Ellyllon. Their aspects are as numerous as the thoughts and beliefs of those who live on the isle of Hyl'dora, which is to say not many.
Once on a very rare occasion, the Ellyllon mutates an individual to cover one of their many aspects, and this mutated child is titled a Trooping (Eladrin).

Structure

This religion has a large council that makes decisions both politically and religiously throughout the isle of Hyl'dora. The figurehead is a woman with the title of Oonagh, which makes her queen in all but name.

Culture

Many blame this religion as contributing to a culture of incest, egotism, and self-depreciation in the high elves due to their obsession with retaining any semblance of their ancestral race.

Public Agenda

The religion's goals are to simply expand the political and theological influence of the high elves by any means necessary, even if it means to sacrifice their failed children to become slaves.

History

According to the church's teachings, almost none of the Ellyllon perished in the Great Holy War, save for those who gave their lives bravely to defend the world from destruction. The High Elves believe that to preserve their people's looks and magical potency, they need to keep their bloodlines pure and the Faith approves of such an action. It is for this reason that many high elves engage in incestuous relations. This was also the main reason for the Fracture, an event that caused the Exile Elves to exist. The church's theocratic control over Hyl'dora is one of the main reasons many high elves were ejected from Hyl'dora and branded as Extradites.

Disbandment

In 1263, the Church would be annihilated as a massive portal opened in the heart of Hyl'dora into Sheol itself as Adrammelech: Mary Garcia would sow her eons of brewing vendetta on the island country. It would be revealed years later that she has been playing a hand in secretly collapsing the country from the inside and out for one day someone to open a Hellmouth in the heart of Ildathach. It was after the complete collapse, and near destruction of the island, that the Church would be abandoned by the High Elves in favor of either the Universale Church or worship of the Ellyllon Monarchs individually.
