Korg
The Race of Wind, Sea and Frost
Basic Information
Anatomy
Korgs are completely humanoid, varying between location, ethnicity and lifestyle. They will all stand taller and have stronger, wider builds than an average human, harking back to their race's origins in the Untamed Lands rather than Elgerlia. Males are fond of long facial hair and females of long braided locks of head hair.
Genetics and Reproduction
Sexual reproduction and live birth after 9 months of gestation.
Ecology and Habitats
Korgs have evolved to be more sturdy in harsher climates and weathers, meaning there will be more Korg presence in rough coasts and icy northernlands than human presence. In the Third Age, the majority of Korg cultures are centred around the region of Skìrah, the far west and islands in the region of Mylrondia, and the undeveloped island civilisations off the coast of Mordwynn.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Korgs favour meat and fish due to its abundance in the regions they inhabit. Their diet may consist of crops but the climates and earth of the regions they inhabit are, for the most part, very harsh and unforgiving so the diet does not rely on it. Because of this, breads and vegetables are treated as luxuries. Korgs also tend to drink more alcohol than other races, biologically being more resistant to the effects. Drinks such as ales, meads, mulled wines and whiskeys are all culturally significant to Korgs.
Additional Information
Social Structure
While the strongest and hardest of all have traditionally been at the top of Korg social structures, women have always been given a special place once they give birth to their first child. This shows how Korg culture respects and celebrates the physical trials and risks that go side by side with pregnancy, and understands that no male warrior can even think of how strong you must be to bear life into the world.
Facial characteristics
While facial features are as varied and unique as Humans, it can be noted that male Korgs seem to grow facial much earlier and easier than other Terralban races.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Korg cultures span across each region of Elgerlia, slowly over time being pushed back to the west. The main population and most famous of Korgs are the Frosian Korgs of Skìrah that are by far the dominating demographic of the region, with Korg culture and religion holding precedent over other Imperial races. A small semi-independent population of Midden Korgs are found in the lands of west Mylrondia bordering Skìrah. Much like in Skìrah, this region is culturally dominated by Korgs. The smallest pocket of population are Dalriadan Korgs of the Stepping Stone Isles in south-west Elgerlor. Being so remote, these Korgs are distributed too far and thin to make any cultural significance.
Average Intelligence
While many Humans like to believe Korgs are the physical embodiment of brawn over brains, Korgs that have been given a proper education or upbringing have been known to show average or high levels of intelligence. Average Korg intelligence however is in fact relatively low due to a lack of developed educational services in Korg populated areas.
Civilization and Culture
Beauty Ideals
Endurance, strength (physical and mental), long and well-kept hair.
Courtship Ideals
Korgs value oaths above most things, and therefore will only ever be in monogamous relationships. Even if one partner dies suddenly in battle, the mourner will never enter another relationship, having pledged an oath of courtship to the deceased. Loyalty and love are considered two of the same thing, with breaking one you will break the other. Because of this, bastard children are not seen as so useful as in some human cultures. A potential bastard child presented to a man, whether legitimate or not, will tarnish his reputation and his loyalty will be forever judged.
Major Language Groups and Dialects

History
The Korg race was originally part of an extended Dwarfash culture that extended across the north-west of the Untamed Lands, across Mylrondia and north-eastern Skìrah. Then, when the Dragon Crusade invaded the continent and the section that would later become Bludalfar struck north through Dagorland, the North Dwarfash tribes were split in half. The ones to the east of the Crusade became the barbarian tribes of the Untamed Lands, but the ones to the west became the three main tribes of Korg.
The Midden Korgs attempted to stay in their homeland of Mylrondia and defend against the Dragon Crusade, their populations depleting as the tribes were forced back to the most westerly points of the region. The Frosian Korgs stayed in north Skìrah and pushed west into uninhabited Skìrah in case the foreign invaders pushed the Midden further. The Dalriadan Korgs abandoned all familiar territories and fled south into the heart of Skìrah, taking over the native Human Dathranii tribes and capturing the south-east Skìrah city-states established by Hawkii peoples of Mordwynn. In time, fuelled by the fear of the Dragon Crusade, Dalriadan Korgs would even push into the region of Mordwynn.
As time progressed into the Second Age, the Dragon Crusade had completely ended; the Losalfar had settled the Faar Isles, the Bludalfar had settled into petty kingdoms and warlord cliques across Mylrondia and the Dokkalfar had returned east to the Dragon Lands. The tribes of the three Korg cultures started to form kingdoms in their own right, consolidating their lands.
The Kingdom of Midden had already only been in far-west Mylrondia, but started to push their borders west into Frosian Skìrah, establishing lands that would come to be known as Valhol. Then, the Kingdom of Midden extended south following the mountain line and taking over areas of the Kingdom of Dalriada at the Skìrah-Mordwynn border, establishing Streamwood. The Kingdom of Frostern extended south and west, taking over all remaining Dalriadan territories in Skìrah and then colonising the rest of the region. The Kingdom of Dalriada, now having no lands in Skìrah, were being pushed south by the militarily strong Kingdom of Mordwynn before the true remnants of Dalriada ended up on small remote islands off the coast of the mainland continent.
Many border disputes occured between the Kingdoms of Frostern, Midden and Mordwynn over the Second Age until the rise of the Golden King in the middle of Mylrondia. As the Golden King consolidated his power and encroached on the borders of the Kingdom of Midden, they united in military union with the Kingdom of Frostern to force the Midden Korgs into a two-front war. The Golden King took the Lionmidden area, and the Kingdom of Frostern took the Valhol and Streamwood areas crowning themself as the High King of All Korgs.

Average Physique
The average build of a Korg is very strong, broad and tall in comparison to the average Human. Due to a mix of genetics and geographical factors, Korgs are noted on being unnaturally resilient to the elements they are faced with, mostly low temperatures.
