Personal history
Gerard is the blood of the once famed chief Ragnar Hamarrsonr, of the Wolfsblood tribe. Always large growing up, he quickly rose to a position of renown after his test of manhood, where he single-handedly wrestled a crystal bear and brought it back to the village. However, some years later he returned from another successful hunt to find his tribe slaughtered in entirety by a single mysterious man wearing a wide-brimmed hat and wielding a strange spear. Enraged, Gerard threw himself at the man, but was tossed aside in an instant, defeated without seemingly any effort.
For some reason, the man let him live, and wandered off into the mountains, leaving Gerard alone amongst the blood-soaked cabins of his people. Without purpose or direction, he wandered the lands, honing his martial skills and defeating any who dared cross him. Now he has joined this mercenary band, in the hopes that it will lead him to even greater battles, where one day he will gain the strength to at last defeat that shadow of a man and avenge his people.
