Ashen Hills

The Ashen Hills radiate from the base of the Broken Crags mountains. These are jagged and rocky foothills rendered useless for farming during the Dragon Wars, and abandoned, for the most part, by humanity. Within the Barony of Otrin, few people live there and those few are either poor or desperate.

While renamed once already for their condition in the aftermath of the Dragon Wars, these hills are notable for one other thing: the strange, rune-marked obelisks that break forth from certain grassy mounds. Ancient and unknown, these obelisks are the target of superstition and fear. Aside from these mysterious stones, the Ashen Hills are home to Fort Rodric, constructed following the Dragon Wars to honor the hero who is its namesake.
