Arcanite

Arcanite or known by some researchers as the Refined Etherite was a resource manufactured by the Archadian Empire during the Third Age, Kingdoms. The discovery of this refinement process led to many more experimental technologies. On its own, the Arcanite is a liquid, mainly purple in color with a faint glow. You could use it either in a ritual or drink it (after another refinement, combining it with a lot of water). This allowed wizards to create magic items cheaply and on en masse as it didn't need that much time with the Arcanite. Later, it was used as fuel by other Arcanite technologies like the Arcanetrain, Arcanesuits and more. To this day, the secret of Arcanite creation process is lost and there were many attempts to recreate it but it never came out so pure, making it worth creating Arcanite only for fuel to the lost technology.
