Atlas

The Betrayer

Atlas, the Betrayer, is a figure of towering legend and cosmic power in the world of Tethys. He is a Titan, an entity formed from the pure, untamed energies of the Life Spark, the foundational essence of all creation. Titans are the shapers of Tethys, while the First Gods are its creators. Atlas himself was a grand traveler, a sculptor of the world's geography, his touch carving valleys and his stride directing the flow of rivers.   In the First Age, during the cataclysmic Titan War, Atlas defied his own kind and chose to side with the Gods. This was not an act of loyalty, but a strategic move, a bid to gain the trust of these celestial beings only to stab them in the back when they least expected it. His ultimate goal was to free his Titan brethren, for he saw the ruin that the war had brought to the world he helped to shape.   But the Gods, in their divine wisdom, saw through his deception. In an act of retribution, they combined their might and defeated the Titans once more. Atlas, the Betrayer, was bound in a cosmic prison at the world's north pole, a constant reminder of his treachery. In a twist of poetic justice, he was condemned to hold the world he had so profoundly shaped above his head, for all eternity.   And so, Atlas remains, a testament to the folly of betrayal, the embodiment of the Titans' defeat, and a beacon of the Gods' victory. His once proud form now a mere silhouette against the cold arctic sky, forever bearing the weight of the world he sought to control. Atlas, the Titan of travel and shaping, is now the Betrayer, a prisoner in the world he once freely roamed.
