Avendaar

Not much a kingdom or nation. The Avendaar Archipelago is ruled by a council of high priests, each from the elven part of the Elder Pantheon. Their goal is to keep the island free of conflict, organize festivities, train new clerics and priests, seek out heresies of the faith and similar goals. Most of their wealth comes from donations coming from other elven nations but Avendaar still has their own cities, mines and some of it goes to the coffers of the temples.

History

After the Second Age, Godswar, the elven kingdom was lost and only the Elven Lands existed. The elven race felt that this might be their end, thankfully, the gods were there to guide them. The Savioress appeared before the elves on the Avendaar Archipelago, telling them what has transpired and that they need to tell others. From that point on, the islands became the holiest place of all to the elves. Once they learned that the whole kingdom wasn't lost and some still exist, many would make a pilgrimage to the Elven Lands and stay on Avendaar for the religious part of their daily life. The Saviouress' Pond Gulf is one of the most secured, by the elves, places on Tethys, using High Magic as well as their ships. The security was tested twice. During the War of the Underworld and the Fourth Age, The Calamity. The former was met with heavy resistance, allowing Avendaar to survive the onslaught from inside and outside. The latter was a heavy blow as the seas rose with the Icons heralding the doom. The magic fell and the temples burned. After the Iconian Empire was destroyed, the elves used High Magic to restore their temples and shrines, as Avendaar was more important than the Sulantaar Isle or the Lunea Archipelago. When the Fifth Age, Current Age hit, the island population drop heavily as very few could survive here. After the Post-Calamity Era, the elves slowly returned here and saw the temples were decrepit, needed a lot of work to restore them. Some of that work still continues, even after over a century later. Many feared that the High Magic would disappear after the Wise One's declension but the Loyal Student was able to keep them intact after his ascension.
