Loyal Student

Loyal Student was a mortal once, where he kept the Magic Threads safe. He was granted godhood by the Wise One, becoming the new god of magic in his stead. Worshippers of the Wise One switched to the Loyal Student and he even gained more, as he dedicated himself fully to be the god of magic and not also elves. Thus he has a lot more non-elf clerics than the Wise One had. They seek to gather arcane knowledge, teach magic, and, most importantly, safeguard the Magic Threads.

History

During the Third Age, Kingdoms, Loyal Student was a gold/high elf wizard, who studied elven High Magic. Many saw him as an ideal candidate to become an archmage, even by archmages of the Archadian Empire. Satlys Goldweave sought to become the protector of magic as he lost his mother in a Wild Magic field. Believing that the Magic Threads are delicate and need someone to safeguard them. This ambition was seen by the Wise One and he secretly helped Satlys in his journeys. It was revealed during the Fourth Age, The Calamity after the archmage Zemvoj sacrificed his life and Satlys became an Exarch of the Wise One, gaining the Knowledge Portfolio. Keeper of the Threads, his new title, was instrumental in defeating Vecna at the end of the age. His ascension was fast and big after The Second Divergence, when the Wise One descended from his godhood, granting him another Portfolio, making him the god of magic. During just two decades, he gained the Spells Portfolio becoming the supreme god of magic of Tethys.

Relationships with other Gods

He worked closely with the Wise One when he was "mortal", then took his place as the god of magic. The position of the elven leader fell to the Savioress and while he is a member of the Elder Pantheon, he tries to stay out of the politics as magic is apolitical and he tries to keep it so.
