Divine Laws

Also known as the Gods' Laws. These laws govern the godhood, how to achieve it, how to lose it and how to use it. Not all are known to the mortals, as this would grant them too much power of the Gods. Those that are known are enough to understand the nature of gods (even if it is only on a mortal thinking level). Overgod is the god that takes care that the laws are abided by, if there is no Overgod, the laws are upheld by other gods. Once a True God achieves the status of Overgod they can either add a new law or change/remove an existing one. Vecna was able to achieve this and created his own law (Law of Vecna).

The Laws

  • No two or more gods shall share the same Portfolio.
  • A Greater Deity can have up to five Portfolios.
  • Intermediate Deities must have at least 3 Portfolios to maintain their rank.
  • Lesser Deities must have at least 1 Portfolio to maintain their rank
  • Once a Deity loses their rank, they become a Demigod.
  • Gods gain and lose their powers based on their worshippers.
  • A mortal can worship any number of gods but only one is his true patron.
