Vecna
Once the great deity of death and undeath, the Maimed God has changed. Most of his followers lost, he was close to losing his powers as a Greater Deity. Those that stayed behind were mostly undead, necromancers and liches. Even his own country, Lepidia, shunned away from him.
Death isn't an end, it is a step. Seek to it that it isn't your final one.
The cycle of life is a lie. Do not adhere to it.
All things will wither and decay in time. Find solace in the eternal.
History
Vecna is one of the First Gods and if you believe the First World Theory, he was once a mortal, who found the secrets of lichdom and ascended to godhood, becoming an ally of convenience to true saviours of the First World. However, if you don't subscribe to that theory, Vecna was the main god behind the invasion of Tethys to fight against the Titans, the main schemer and the real leader behind the Divine King. After the victory over the Titans, their relationship fell short and the Second Age, Godswar didn't help to cure the wounds. Vecna created the Ghol race as well as founded Lepidia, so his people would have a place to call home. Over time his cult grew and many more would pop up, while the Lich schemed another plan. His followers would make you believe, that Vecna saw the destruction of the Godswar and the Coming of the Icons as objectively bad decisions made by the Gods themselves, that they petty wars and squabbles were the reason why all of this happened and why mortals were at their mercy. Seeking to end this, he saw an opportunity to become the Overgod and change the rules, making the divine intervention a very risky move, so that the mortals would have much more freedom of choice. If you believe the other side, Vecna did this out of his own greed, seeking the ultimate power and was stopped by his former allies and other gods. Maimed by the Wise One during the final battle, his arm and eye falling to the mortal realm. Nobody really knows what happened between those two but Vecna didn't lose his powers, only one Portfolio, the portfolio of Death, creating a new god (Last Judge). From that point on, he is secluded but still communicates with his clerics.Dogma
Relationships with other Gods
Most of the time, Vecna was seen with disdain and distrust. He showed his true nature a couple of centuries ago, making enemies of all of the gods. While the conflict ended, most of them still do not trust the Lich. He spends most of his time scheming against them in his own plane of existence.Cleric Domains
