While most of the populace doesn't care as they never have to have contact with the vampires, the ones that live near their lairs need to pay "blood tax" instead of a normal tax, thus many return to their homes weak for many days. Over the years, there were many adventurers or paladin groups coming to the kingdom, trying to fight the vampires but found the local army and guards standing in their way. Draklor might never lose its vampiric influence.

History

Many duchies of the Patientcoast region were lost. Only some ports and villages in the north survived the Fourth Age, The Calamity and the Post-Calamity Era. However, it was revealed after The Second Divergence something was brewing in this region for a long time. The duchies of the Patientcoast were in control over an ancient family of vampires called Vladimirovich Family. They were once human and Northern Aarakocra Txards of Mordavia that were casted out of their txardom, when it was revealed near the end of the Third Age, Kingdoms. They moved to the duchies in the deb of night and began plotting their revival. Over the centuries, they were able to set a quite good influence web. Lost everything when the Iconian Empire came, nearly destroying the family in the process. The few ancients that survived went into torpor and when they woke up, it was the Post-Calamity Era of the Fifth Age, Current Age. The hunger was too strong and many of the people here didn't die due to starvation but by the fangs of their ancient lords. Using their powers, they returned to become the shadow kings of the coast, and over two centuries, nobody was the wiser. Barons, dukes, everybody was in their pocket. When the Second Divergence happened, the vampire plot was revealed. There was a small civil war but it ended quite quickly. Now, everybody knows that the new nation of Draklor is controlled by vampires.
