Nimrod

Some say Nimrod is a dark god, a smaller version of Vecna but those are words of outsiders. For those in Azura, especially in Oziria, Nimrod is the god of passing, death and mummies. He is worshipped by the secret lords of Oziria, the Mummy Kings. Followers of Nimrod see themselves as saviours, those that will do anything they can, from the shadows, to save their nations, families and/or fulfill their ambitions.

History

Many believe that Nimrod is the younger brother of the Charioteer. While his brother was in the front lines, he took care of the city he is named after. It almost fell into the hands of the fiendish hordes, until Nimrod started to use foul magic himself, thus saving the people of his city. When The Great Clash occurred, Nimrod stood upon the ashes of his home, everything turned to dust due to the explosion that ripped asunder the continent. He scoured the land, killing any monster and fiend he came across until he met again with his brother and the other God-Kings of Ossyria. Reluctantly he joined forces with them, only to be repulsed by their lack of conviction and ambition in seeking out those that wronged them and finishing the great Godswar. Thus, he became the mastermind behind the creation of the Rain of Sand and, if rumours are to be true, he was the one that whispered to Setkuteth about the Foundation Pillar - Me'at'Ilimmu. When the Mummy God was defeated and he lost the portfolio of Mumies, Nimrod snatched it before anybody else could, thus increasing his powers from a Lesser Deity to an Intermediate in that one moment. His brother was disgusted with what has transpired and went to slumber, thus allowing Nimrod to take control of the situation. The Mummy Kings worshipped him and worked in the shadows to try again with world domination. However, when the Fourth Age, The Calamity came, when the Icons, Nimrod was at a loss. His grand plan revealed, his armies beaten by monsters of immense power. He pleaded his brother to wake up but he didn't. It is said, at that moment he sought out darker powers, thus damning his eternal soul. The nature of this pact was never revealed but he was able to save Ossyria from utter annihilation. When Vecna was fighting the gods, Nimrod was one of the few that didn't help, seeing no problem in the God of Undeath becoming an Overgod. Not choosing a side for some was like doing it anyway, thus his brother saw him more than a rival. From that point on, the struggle between the siblings continue on the streets, oasis and deserts of Azura.

Dogma

  • Your family, your nation, and your future are in your hands. Seek to guard them against folly.
  • Preserve everything on your journey. History will be their testament.
  • Do not fear the shadows. You walk much in the darkness.
  • Relationships with other Gods

He has few allies in the Ossyrian Pyramid and is thought as the second-in-command by many. He hates his brother for leaving him with Ossyria, while he himself slumbered in peace and he dared to call him out on not helping with Vecna. Nimrod did find the god of Undead worthy of an alliance but none of it materialized at this moment. Some still believe Nimrod to being just an Aspect of Vecna.
