Vendel League
The Vendel League is an ancient organization that was formed during the Third Age, Kingdoms. Many courageous explorers ventured south from the Old World finding new lands and calling it Venland (after the first captain called Venici). Over time, they found this territory inhospitable to them but rich with resources, so they imported many things. The waters weren't on their side, so they needed to innovate. Many historians point to the people of the Venland as the creators of the first, fully working sea ship, capable of long-distance travel. When trade blossomed, the city-states needed an alliance, thus an organization was born and a country (Vendel), signed over a document named the League's Accord, which is used millennia later, with over a hundred new stipulations. It was in the Fifth Age, Current Age that there is a distinction. The country became more diverse, more guilds showed up and started to make their stake in the country, while other parts were lost due to conflict. The Vendel League decided to cut ties with the country, becoming more global. In almost all major ports, you will have a branch of the Vendel League, selling exotic goods from around the world. They use airships as well as sea ships to transport their goods, sometimes using their wizards for the really expensive ones. One of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, organization in the whole Tethys. They try to be neutral in matters of politics and only having a say when their interests are in danger. There are rumors about a Dark League, an organization inside the Vendel League that specializes in getting rare items that would be illegal or forbidden in most of the world. Also, while they say they are "independent" of the country, the leaders of the League are the leaders of the city-states of the nation of Vendel.
