Dainmouth Domain
The domain of DAINMOUTH is the northwestern fiefdom in the Kingdom of Auredain. It is a vassal domain of Farshores and musters under their banner. The people of the DAINMOUTH have long been the most northern borderers up against the wilds of the Northwest Approach. They take a degree of pride in the reputation for toughness this has earned them.

Fortifications
Dainmouth Keep sits astride the Auran. It boasts exterior and interior castle walls that stand 20' high, 3' thick and provide a dual defense to the island-fort. A wooden drawbridge is watched over by one of three stone towers (30') set into the exterior wall. The other two towers cover the northwest shore and north waters of the Auran River. The central keep is quarried stone and mortared, it boasts a height of 60' and is nearly 80' square.Keep Macairna is the seat of the Macairn family and has been for nearly three generations. It has been besieged several times but has never completely fallen although it has come close. Despite this, the border becomes stronger with each generation although folks grumble about a 'restlessness' amongst their inhuman enemies these past few years. Even so, the last time the Keep was besieged was in 87 YS and no enemy force has come close to it since that battle.

On the north and south of the Macairn fief, there are also Crown Watchtowers set over the roads for protection of travelers and surveillance of enemy raids. These fortifications are standard Crown Towers and are manned by soldiers from the Auredain Army; their costs are borne by the King. Even so, the troops of Dainmouth and the Crown soldiers work closely together and generally serve well alongside each other.
Territories
The Dainmouth Domain runs from the east side of the Lornish Hills all the way west to the banks of the Auran River where Dainmouth watches over the southflow of the river into Dain Lake. To the south, his lands come together south of the hills in an area known as the Lornish Lowlands. The borders here are delineated only in the arable areas with the Throne's Watchtower, right below the hills, standing as symbol of those mutual borders. To the north, one must ride nearly ten miles into the Northstrand and beyond to reach the limits of Lord Macairn's writ. While the royal soldiers at Northstrand Watch assist in patrols and raider defense, the entire area is actually under the control of the Macairn family and its heirs.
