Saltfork
Saltfork is a township of approximately 1300 people located on the Isle of Falincolm. The township is situated along the island's mountain range, which provides access to special resources such as rocksalt and obsidian from a long-extinct volcano. Despite the volcano no longer being active, the area is still at risk of cave-ins and avalanches due to the occasional tremors felt in the region.
Saltfork's main industry is mining, including the extraction of gems, ores, rocksalt, and obsidian. The township also has a quarry for stone extraction. In addition to mining, Saltfork engages in cave farming, primarily cultivating mushrooms and moss.
The unique location of Saltfork in the mountains has made it a challenging place to live, and the township has had to develop specialized techniques to mitigate the risks associated with living in the area. Despite these challenges, the township has managed to thrive and contribute to the economy of the Isle of Falincolm through its mining and farming activities.
