Lizardmen

Overview

Lizardmen, often considered distant relatives of Dragonborn and Kobolds by certain scholars, are a distinct and ancient race inhabiting the Material Plane since its inception. Despite sharing some physical traits with other scaled beings, Lizardmen are unique in their own right, possessing remarkable resilience and a profound connection to the natural world. Endowed with formidable physical defenses and an innate aptitude for survival.

Physical Characteristics

Adorned with vibrant and colorful scales, Lizardmen display a rich spectrum of hues and intricate patterns across their bodies. Each individual possesses a unique arrangement of scales, contributing to their diverse appearances. While Lizardmen typically reach heights of up to 5 feet, those hailing from the Jubal Plains are exceptional, often towering up to 8 feet tall. Their facial features, reminiscent of their reptilian kin, showcase a range of variations in snout length, eye shape, and other traits, further accentuating their distinctiveness and formidable presence in their native habitats.

Hibernation

As a cold blooded species those lizardmen and women who live in colder climates often hibernate for the winter. Though this is not essential they are known to be particularly irritable if this is not observed.

Cultural Practices

Lizardmen exhibit a profound reverence for nature, often venerating The Earthflow , the divine glyph representing the essence of the natural world or the Endless Breath , the divine glyph of dragons, further emphasizing their reverence for the mystical and elemental forces that shape their existence. Through their worship and devotion, Lizardmen uphold ancient traditions that honor the balance and interconnectedness of all living beings within their realms. Beyond their physical attributes, Lizardmen are renowned for their mystical connection to the natural world. This innate bond grants them an intuitive understanding of their surroundings, allowing them to thrive in diverse ecosystems and challenging environments.
