Abbreviations and Terms

In Character: the character is speaking, or narrative is being written about them and the story/world LARP / larping
Live Action RolePlay, now often used as its own term: larping. This means actively playing a character in person, usually at a live digital or in-person event. Variations include 'Nordic Larp' with which this game has much in common. A good description of Nordic Larp can be found here. NPC
Non-Played Character, or Non-Player Character: a character who is referred to by other characters, but never actually encountered in person. These characters might have names and detailed personalities, or they might be nameless references to generic roles, eg: 'the butcher'. OOC
Out Of Character: the player is talking, and referring to the game's events without actively adding to them. Post
A post is any single contribution to the storytelling by a player, eg: a line of dialogue with some narrative description. Playing the game in this way is called 'posting'. RPG
