Education
Most education on the island happens on the job: children tend to work with their parents in their family trade from a very young age.
It is traditional for everyone to spend time experiencing other trades too, either by visiting with extended family, or through specific apprenticeships.
Overseeing all this are a group of spinners who volunteer for a role that is part-guardian and part-teacher. They ensure that everyone is well treated, and receives as full and bespoke an education as possible.
These spinners also sit on the Council, along with youthful representatives, to speak on behalf of the young people on the island, who are consulted in most things.
