Journey Below
Having learned about Tempus' Legions plan to find a set of Rune Keys, the party set off towards a Goliath settlement in the mountains to gain access to the Underdark .
On their journey, the party encountered a group of Pirànjù soldiers who had been camped in the hills since The War That Never Was. Though initially hostile, they backed down upon seeing Blood Orchid, a historical relic from their homeland. Using this as a distraction, the party fled and made their way to the village.
The Goliaths were unwelcoming, but Borghur used his 'natural charisma' to punch one of the gatekeepers in the face. Surprisingly, they took this well and allowed the party to access the lift to gain access to the Underdark. Upon, reaching the bottom of the lift the party encountered The Sporemaiden , a druid who used the squalor of the underdark to create horrid mimicries of life. The party faced her and the beholder corpse she has reanimated. Upon the defeat of the beholder it released spores that, when inhaled, granted the party visions of the past. The visions showed The Sentinel psionics, Psillaius, being discovered and subsequently worshipped by a sect of Mind Flayers. The sect built a citadel for the Sentinel to keep it safe. However, the vision showed the invasion of an unknown force that arrived in high-tech ships and slaughtered the Mind Flayers then abducted Psillaius.
Upon recovering from the spores, the party continued through the Underdark in the search of the ransacked citadel.
