Shay is a member of
Team Seven in the
The Gauntlet of Mercy. A former soldier in the navy, Shay is a natural-born
Genasi, arrested for attempted desertion.
Extremely loud and extroverted, Shay shows little deference for the Empire or for Celestial customs, and she thinks the entire Gauntlet is something of a farce. Despite her superficial harmlessness, Shay seems willing and ready to see combat. She has an aggressive dislike of
Noa --which seems now to be largely performative--and makes him the butt of many jokes. Despite this, she has displayed genuine loyalty both to her team and to the other teams in the games, keeping secret all knowledge she has gained about
Ash and even expressing a willingness to help with toppling the current regime.
