Anoomenon Oustone Barony
Oustone Barony is the ancestral home of Baron Simeon Brending and his son Charles Brending in the eastern districts of Anoomenon.
The Barony has always been concerned with the business of quarrying and building, in and around Anoomenon and maintains industrial links with the Dead Spires region.
Architecture
Erected in the sixth century AF, Oustone Barony is the earliest example of the Colossal Build style that came to characterise much later architecture in the city. It is almost two hundred years older than Gess Palace, a more sophisticted example of this style, which would become characteristic of Anoomenon in later ages, culminating in the designs of the Kings Court towers, constructed on the orders of the Grey Kings
In Colossal Build, natural sandstone features provide the inspiration for a reworking of hollowed spires and towers into huge brutalist bastions. The outer faces are smoothed and strengthened with a glue like resin which seals them against the weather and typically they are only pierced by narrow windows to leave extensive planes of blank stone in the various shades of red that are found locally. Colossal Build is an intimidating style, but is can also be dramatically beautiful.
