Chapter 1: Mutations and Murder

General Summary

Both Mannim and Ayihn are traveling from Sevastopol Station in Kal- Sharock to Lyrandar Station in Amaranthine aboard the Lightning Rail. Their trip was cut short when a loud bang and screams were heard from the back of the train as multiple mutated humanoids began attacking the passengers. The party was able to defeat these creatures, but it seemed like they were just a diversion as a young boy was kidnapped during the battle. The main suspect was a suspicious man who belongs to the group known as the Emerald Claw Raiders, who are tied to the disappearances of at least four other people in the city.

Mannim and Ayihn were able to track the man to the Warehouse District and learn that he had delivered the child to Dr. Ciradyl Liakas, a former scientist at the Greenspire Labs and known Biomancer. However, Liakas had been let go from his position at the labs due to unethical experiments on human test subjects. The party heads to his decrepit manor within Mithril Estates only to find it under the watchful eye of corrupt members of the Imperial Guard. After dispatching them, Mannim and Ayihn head down into Liakas’ basement laboratory, and find many of the missing people locked in cages, surrounded by mutated creatures. Ayihn is just barely able to hold off the creatures while Mannim goes 1v1 against Liakas, eventually killing him.
