Humans

Humans are established as the ruling race of the Mainlands, and quite possibly the smartest of all creatures. They found their way with magic quite fast, and managed to have stoneworking in a fairly short amount of time.
Humans are also quite rily and not submissive. Some even will fight to the death, even if given an oppurtunity to surrender. It is quite strange by most standards, but they have won many such battles.   Humans are also quite strange in their attitudes toward other creatures, or more notably, sentient creatures. Instead of being racist and incredibly shunning of outsiders like most races typically are, they are acceptant in most cases. They will allow other races to trade within their settlements, rest, eat, and more (although this varies from culture to culture).   Humans, incredibly, allow other races to live in their society, too. Typically this happens when a man or woman marries a Human man or woman and they must live together. The Humans (although this varies on case to case, individual to individual) are typically quite welcoming to the other race, and this allows for many mixed race children.   Dryads, too, find a place within Human society. As workers in fields, they can absorb sun whilst working, aiding in their efforts to work. Plus, this puts their plant magic to use. Other races take a variety of jobs, many including skilled labor.   Human society varies wildly on location and culture. Most of the time they are monarchies, ruled by a king (or other type of monarch), but there are quite a few oligarchies, and even a republic or two, but they're typically ruled over by or a vassal of a monarchy.   Whilst serfdom is uncommon, it can happen, especially in temperate places such as Kerb or Nento, but it is fairly limited, as most view it as another form of slavery.
Humans do have slavery, but to a lesser degree than most races. The most slaves are likely owned by Quaribibians or Nentonians, but in the western continent it is all but extinguished. Even in Liask, slave owning is considered quite evil and immoral. Having slaves that are other races is typically seen as tolerable, but people will get involved if the slave shows signs of abuse. The reason for this is that other races typically offer themselves as payment for a debt, or perhaps if a Human saved them. This is strangely shared by most races, as long as they aren't part of a Human hating cult, of course. Those types of slaves are usually treated like family.   Human conflict is quite civilised, or at least, the more civilised wars are. Typically it is fought over land, without a casus belli or with one. It is typically civilised in the way that prisoners aren't executed, villages aren't usually destroyed, and people aren't usually slaughtered. This changes with tribals, but no one could blame a king for slaughtering a tribe of savages.
Due to this, Human society itself is fairly honorable, although it varies at an individual and cultural level. People descended from Akkania (Westerns, Erestria) typically have a good spirit and are fairly kind. Quaribibians care little for anyone else, Nentonians will trade but will also take advantage, and there are many more. Of course, this varies heavily, especially on the individual level, but those are the cultures of each.   Humans are quite witty, too. Many a time have Humans survived a rough situation that an Auris or a Purr would have died because of. This also allows them to make many advancements in a relatively short period of time, as it took Goblins 2,000 years to begin blacksmithing, and Humans figured it out (Not without help from the Purrs that had heard stories about it) in around 1,250 years.   Despite these similarities, perhaps the Humans' second only flaw is their lack of unity. They infight constantly among each other, even when larger enemies are coming upon them. However, the unity does seem to come in the most desperate of times, or perhaps in community and in war.    Their first flaw isn't considered a flaw, but it truly is. Humans' compassion is unmatched, letting barbarians that have slaughtered the families of those powerful to live, letting the citizens of the Elves leave unharmed, and more. They are, in fact, the sole reason that the Elves are still around, as the Giants would have wiped them out if they had the choice.   Human farming is more efficient than other races were, if they had ever farmed. They've developed ways to do it quickly and better than other ways, but are certainly not perfect. Life on the farm is similar to medieval times, but it's typically with less serfdom and more freedom. Some farmers, typically on the richer side, have sons to grow up to become traders, and less commonly, heroes.
Nice and pleasant houses are not uncommon, as most houses have at least three or four rooms, and are well built. The poorest houses are wooden shacks, but they suffice well enough. The richest houses are typically castles.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Almost anywhere where there is grass, Humans can thrive.

Naming Traditions

Naming traditions change by language, but it is common to name a son after his father or his king.

Major Organizations

One could spend years listing all of the nations, all of the religions, all of the creeds and all of the Orders, and it wouldn't be complete.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Akkanians, Nentonians, and Peninsulans are major ethnic groups. Each has its own language, and although regional dialect is different, they can be understood by itself.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Birthday parties are commonplace. There are even holidays in some places for the birthdays of the kings.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans don't tend to be racist, but take precautions. They are friendly with the Dryads, against the Elves, not by choice. Aurises sometimes harm Humans, but are typically friendly. Nasculon Fungi and Choralictans have no real relatioship, so are pretty neutral. Humans are benevolent to all of these, and will let any species into their society if they follow the rules.    Humans and Nymphs and Humans and Cornearems' situation changes individually. Some times, Cornearems and Nymphs will attack and fight to the death, other times they'll become great friends. Typically in the Frost Kingdom, Cornearems are friendly to Humans, however, anywhere else, they are considered a danger, if not a great threat, as they are occasionally friendly.
