Aphrodite Hotel
The largest hotel complex in Apollo City which, supposedly, carries Aphrodite's influence.
Purpose / Function
This hotel was crafted for the sole purpose of providing extravagant levels of hospitality as well as being one of the most infamous spots in the city for nymphomaniacs.
Design
Each room is eerily identical, differentiated only by their room numbers. However, ever since the boom in tourism, each room has been adjusted to be able to house at least six people. This, in itself, has lead to an increase in all-night orgies, which the staff laments having to clean up.
Denizens
Prostitutes and nymphomaniacs are regulars at this establishment. Surprisingly, aside from outsiders, the hotel remains regularly clean and tidy.
Alterations
Unlike other hotels in Apollo City, the Aphrodite Hotel has a constant, luminous glow around it that even outshines the dim luster of Aether in its foundation. It is said that Aphrodite's essence fuels this building, which may explain a multitude of strange issues that have arisen over the years.
Architecture
Like all other structures, the building is forged from white marble, steel and sapphires. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and sticks out among the other structures with its peculiar red glow that bathes the streets nearby day and night.
History
When the Aphrodite Hotel was first constructed, it was an ordinary hotel with none of the special properties it came to reflect today. However, just a few months after it was built, it became famous for supposedly curing the sterile conditions of a Wisconsin couple who came to Apollo for a visit. Ever since their news broke around the city, many others who were labeled barren and sterile came to the hotel only to become quickly pregnant. The more that came, the more Aphrodite's presence started to flow through the hotel, influencing all inside with a passion for whatever they came there to do. However, just after the miraculous news, the hotel started becoming a haven for nymphomaniacs and prostitutes who proclaimed that they had the best sex of their life while staying in the rooms.
The fervor escalated once petty criminals started cashing in on the unique aura of the hotel, trying to change it into the world's most popular brothel. Drugs started to run rampant with people trying to create an extreme high by using various substances to augment the already intense sexual experience, some of them even dying over it. To make things worse, the criminal presence was illegally extorting those who came to the hotel just to cure their infertility, gouging tourists while running a successful racket.This behavior reached its peak once a rising serial killer started using the hotel as a killing ground, secretly luring people to his hotel room and ending their lives. However, as the Apollo Police Department closed in on the killer, they found that his body was eviscerated by a flock of sparrows.
Some believe this to be the judgement of Aphrodite and, although criminal activity comes and goes in waves at the hotel, murder is one thing that the goddess will not tolerate at her palace of love.
Tourism
Many come to visit this hotel to cure their barren and infertile conditions, as well as satisfy extreme cases of nymphomania. Most of the money that flows through the hotel, however, is done through prostitution.
