Dr. Ignatius Slade
Doctor Ignatius Harcroft Slade, Dr. (a.k.a. The Prof.)
Dr. Ignatius Slade was born to highly affluent scientists in the Capitol of Illium. From an early age he played assistant to his parents as they reverse engineered the technology of the colony ship that brought the people of Caliban to the Sycorax System.
When the Sycoran Martial Council took power, Dr. Slade was the acting Minister of Science for the Illiate Council. High Marshal Thalos Ryn recognized the contributions Dr. Slade had made to the Sycoran people and kept him in his position. However, amidst the purge of people in high level positions within the Illiate government, Dr. Slade decided that his research would only be able to continue if he lived to do it himself.
The defection of Dr. Ignatius Slade from the Sycoran Martial Council to the Sycorax Free Alliance was an embarrassment to the leadership of the SMC, not least of all High Marshal Thalos Ryn. To the SFA though, the good doctor has been instrumental in adopting and overcoming the technology gap between the rebels and their authoritarian adversaries.
