Oni
Oni are a type of devil born naturally, without any prior stages of development. They are known for their immense strength, and even more so for their love of alcohol. Oni were considered for leadership positions in Hell, but all oni offered the positions turned them down; they hate responsibility.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Oni appear somewhat identical to their other brethren with two key differences. Their horns are typically thicker and/or longer, and they have no tails. The lack of tail is due to the fact that the tail forms as an imp, a stage that oni don't undergo.
Genetics and Reproduction
Oni are born whenever there is an excessive concentration of dark energy somewhere on the lower levels of Hell; usually the energy can be seen gathering around a specific location. Like their other devil brethren, oni are sterile.

Unlike their brethren, oni are born as oni from the beginning and there are no stages before, such as imps, arch imps, or lilim/luciem.

Dietary Needs and Habits
Oni, unlike other devils, do not feed on anything intangible, such as happiness or sexual energy. They eat and drink normally to survive, with the exception that they usually have alcohol with any given meal. Oni have a great preference for meat.

Social Structure
To an oni, power and status should be decided on by strength, and nothing else. They sometimes fight with other devils, who disagree with this idea, but at some point the oni will get bored and move on.

Oni, like all devils, have slitted orange eyes. Their teeth are also pointed.

- Alcohol Empowerment: In addition to the standard heightened condition that being a devil gives them, when an oni consumes alcohol, their powers and abilities are enhanced even further. The more they drink, the stronger they become, and because of their high alcohol tolerance, it is incredibly hard for them to become fully inebriated, allowing them to make full use of these boosted abilities.

Oni are generally very surly and closed off to others, even their brethren, but after enough time they'll eventually open up. As for their treatment of mortals, they have no interest in them whatsoever. They're generally content to just stay in Hell most of the time.
