Countries of the Mortal Plane

  • Algan Settlements: Southern swamp settlements with a culture of hospitality and respect for nature that's often viewed as "crude".
  • Eskijan: Recently democratic, somewhat militaristic country with a strong populist movement recently attacked by its northern neighbor.
  • Estil: A kingdom recently split in two, with a strong culture of noblesse oblige, with a large number of national heroes after surviving famine and harship.
  • The Kingdom of Sheora: An exceptionally old kingdom struggling to hold onto its old ways via religious dogma/state religion and using war to placate its citizens.
  • Lasnil Wildlands: A mostly-unsettled land filled with roaming gnomish tribes with a culture focused on exploration and discovery.
  • Principality of Blum: A loosely-governed nation defined by the combination between dwarvish and halfling cultures.
  • Sanctuary Ashana: A freezing northern wasteland, only survivable thanks to its Elvish inhabitants substantial magical and technological expertise.
  • Thassas: An outward focused country descended from exiles and prisoners that spurs its children to glory, only recently having claimed its place as a power within the world.

Planar Cosmology

From uppermost (1) to lowermost (7). Major planes are known as "layers".
  1. Layer 1: The Aether, a plane of mostly air, dotted by small pockets of eternally suspended land.
  2. Layer 2: The Boundless Sea, a plane of deep, endless ocean filled with islands and seafaring cultures.
  3. Layer 3: The Woodlands, an endless, vibrant plane filled with magical plant life, animals, and mysterious fey beings.
  4. Layer 4: The Mortal Plane, the plane most similar to our world.
  5. Layer 5: The Crags, a rocky, uncomfortably warm landscape filled with rivers of magma.
  6. Layer 6: The Staircase, a fractal-like plane filled with constructs, scholars, and difficult-to-imagine creatures and landscapes.
  7. Layer 7: The Void, a series of unending spirals into unending dark, filled with creatures who prefer to avoid the light.
Demiplanes can be found between these, and most gods do not call a single major plane home.
