Fuku

Fuku is an elderly woman who has served the Furuyama Clan for generations. As a young girl, she originally came to Ittoyama from Nakoku along with her mistress, Chiyo who was wed to the clan leader, Furuyama no Hisatoki.

She is particularly fond of Akie due to her strong resemblance to Chiyo.

Personal history

In the year 573, Fuku was one of the few witnesses to the marriage of Furuyama no Shigenori and Hana. She is sworn to secrecy, an oath she dutifully keeps out of fondness for the new lady of the house. When Ittoyama is recaptured by Ryusaburo in the following year, she feigns loyalty to him.
In 575, Fuku aided Akie in escaping her cruel brothers and uncles. She instructed her to seek out Hana first in Sakuchi, rather than Ryujiro who was likely to distrust her. Fuku tells Akie of their marriage so that Hana will know that she is trustworthy.
