M3E7&8 - Arrest, Release, and War

Prisioner in Kerhofn

 
Trapped with in the prision of Kerhofn you hear shouting and the sounds of rioting above. Help you remain in youself as the chaos rages outside. You have become strong, but you are outnumber, and even if you were to break free how could stop the chaos of the entire city?   Perhaps you can contact your allies. The various factions you have encountered during your travels. With their help maybe you could tip the scales.
  The party will be arrested by The Black Crows shortly after the defeat and burial of N'jal Odger. They will find themselves in a nearby prison. When under capitivity they fill hear sounds of civil unrest and general chaos outside.   The party will need to find a way to contact their allies to break them out of prision. The party will meet the allies they have made during their adventure from the The Scarlet Temple, Graybacks, Ashen Rose, Watchers on the Lake, and the animals from the Ye Old Fight Pit lead by the Lord of the Mountain  

Leading the Armies to War

  Each player will lead their own faction to perform skill checks for each scenario. They player can solve the situtation anyway they like but they must describe their action using skill checks. All skill challenges have a DC 15.   Telo  
You lead the Dogs of War through towards the city gates. The city is burning and in chaos. You arrive at a barracks controled by The Black Crows. The guards are rushing looting and grab anything that isn't nailed down and throwing into nearby wagons and carts. The largest cart begans to shake back and fourth violently.
  Aestros  
As you approach the gates to inner quarter of Battlements of Kerhofn Hall fighting has broken out all around. Red Hand Conscripts are fight The Black Crows but they are disorganized. Despite the fighting all around you see that a group of disciplined The Black Crows are holding their ground in formation guarding the doors to inner city complex.
  Volk  
You lead the Lord of the Mountain and the other animals across a bridge on the outskirts of the city. As you cross the bridge you see a cohort of The Black Crows reenforcements rushing towards to the city to assist their comrades.
  Hena  
While leading the Ashen Rose Remembering that dozens of gladiators were kept prisioner in the Ye Old Fight Pit that would likely join the fight you rush rescue them. As you enter the lower area of the barracks you hear guards whispering behind the door.
  Malcor  
As you lead the acolytes of The Scarlet Temple through city you approach a mansion owned by a local lord who was sympathetic to the Red Hand Conscripts. The Black Crows have occupied the house and are using it a staging area for the conflict. You see several officers looking at maps and drafting military orders.
 

Aftermath

  It was a close call, but do to the help of the party and their allies you were barely able to regain control of the city, and The Black Crows are either captured or fleed the city. The party can decide how the city will be ruled in the aftermath.  
As you look over the wreckage of Kerhofn Hall you remember the words of Berka the 'Seer'.   "I see you being tormented, tormented by one who is dead. Far more powerful and troublesome than most. I see your foe gazing upon you all with hate an contempt. Freezing your souls I see like ice. I see a great battle ensuing. And I see him rising again from the snow. You're deeds will be told by the Skalds for generations and generations without number, and you will gain great fame."   To think just days ago you were mere travelers, but now you have been the agents of prophecy and prevented a terrible war that could have treated all of Jordsvik. As you contemplate​ this you began to wonder what the 'Seer' meant when she said, that he would rise from the snow? In haste you rush back to the great hall to the cairn of N'jal Odger to find it empty. Whether the grave was robbed or whether the beast now walks the moors of Jordsvik who could say?   But for now you can rest you are the heroes of Kerhorn. The town has great feast and celebration in your honor. They build statues and the Skalds do tell your story. They travel all through out the land telling anyone who will listen of the new heroes who have come who are the strongests of the generation.
 

Side Quests

  The players will be given side quests for them to take next:   Aestros   Draconus Shade will review the Mysterious Rod and remind Aestros that cult was seen using holy artifacts for dark purposes. He'll ask Aestros if he wants to come to the Westfjord Abbey to investigate further.   Hena   Rain will be impressed with Hena's performance in the war and ask her if she would like to help her rob the Vault of Corruption.   Volk   Jord will meet the party on the road and invite them to dine with the Old Risi King.   Telo   Zeldris will remind the players that Tulgrum Hellstorm was seen traveling south.   Malcor   Father John will tell Malcor that he thinks he's found the location of the Selif's palace, and they should head for the next clues for the disappearance of Midas.
