Titan (TEE-tan)
A term adopted solely for use for a General in the Host of Selephise during the War of the Six, due to the disparate nature of the sources of its military forces. Its root is a scattered tribal myth of great giants (titans) that created the mountains and Icalar itself through their joyful dancing after a victory against the sky-demon Ghelut.
Ouni Kujan, the Tibat of the Violet Accord and thus overseer of the Host, appointed three Titans arbitrarily out of perceived need and usefulness of the individuals themselves rather than any pre-defined specification. Initially they were not necessarily discernible from any other rank, but in the second year of the war they began to wear deep violet cape-stoles that crossed the body from shoulder to waist and hung down the back.
The Titans in turn oversaw the Meitibat and by association, the Meititan.
