Traveler's Shiitake

Traveler's Shiitake are a type of edible mushroom which can be found in the forests of The Gates, particularly in Pluarsh ec Relovut.
The Spiritual Travelers first encountered this mushroom on Nurend 16, 308 while traversing the aforementioned swamp. Agave was able to recognize the mushroom from glimpses seen in The Field Guide and harvested a total of 8 Traveler's Shiitake. The entry for these mushrooms, Traveler's Shiitake, suggests that consuming them will open a gate to another layer of the Spirit World, however, The Writer never ventured into this gate so cannot speak for what lies on the other side.
The Zombie that told her story after the Spiritual Travelers defeated a group of Death Blossoms mentioned that an ancient necromancer referred to as Božena actually bred the mushrooms for the very purpose of reaching the realm of Skorumpovaný.

Agave harvested four more of these mushrooms before leaving the swamp and now has a total of twelve traveler's shiitake.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Traveler's Shiitake have the appearance of ordinary shiitake mushrooms from Taranel, but their stocks have a distinct shape reminiscent of the frame of a gate complete with intricate swoops and swirls. Their caps are a mid brown color and their stocks are an off-white creamy beige. They stand between one to two inches tall with caps that are about as wide as the whole mushroom's height.
