King Derid Kendrick was an heir of Alicia Kendrick and, as of 1479 DR, was the nominal King of all the Moonshae Isles although he only directly controlled Alaron. Even though his power was limited he still commanded the respect of most Ffolk and Northlanders in the isles and hoped to reassert his authority over the entire archipelago
Where once was a diplomatic and considerate young King, now resides the harsh and milararistic grown High King Derdid.
Many believe the rumors that the death of his young son and the Night of Betrayal chilled the King's heart while others point to his many earlier military inclinations

History
In 1489 DR he hoped to foster an alliance with the dwarven clans of the Fairheight Mountains, but was frequently rejected. Around this time he also sought to reclaim the ruins of the small Ffolk city Caer Corwell and rebuild it as an embassy to the kingdom of Synnoria, whose territory the city was then under, but struggled to obtain permission from Lady Ordalf or his new son in law Prince Araithe.

Derid's youngest son, Owaren, was kidnapped and unfortunately died during the attempted rescue by the 1st Spears Vaxidor Mistgazer. This is all the more sad considering the growing distance between Derid and his daughter the newly wed Princess Tarilyn.
