Castle Rohira
Built on the shoreline near where the first Norvalled adventurers landed centuries ago, Castle Rohira is the seat of power for the Barony of Galeste.
Purpose / Function
Castle Rohira wards the coastline near the inlet towards the capitol of Redehall. Built shortly after the founding of the kingdom of Banteave, it has weathered assaults from Dunefalli pirates, Norvalled raiders, Antari reavers and thieves from the Gannets.
Defenses
Castle Rohira is connected to the coast by a sturdy stone bridge that sees constant repairs and upkeep to maintain it. It is defended by a small fleet of ships, and houses a sizeable garrison within its high stone walls.
History
The first Antari clanfolk to see the Norvalled raiders in the bay was a shepherd named Rohira who ran to her people to tell them what she had seen. It is said that she returned with the warband who first confronted the Norvalleds when they made landfall, and as she watched them cut down her kinsfolk she let loose a mighty wail and died from heartbreak. Some say the sea caverns near the castle still carry the echo of her dying cry, earning the Castle it's nickname: The Lament.
