Lonsley Manor
Located just outside of Risevar Town, Lonsley Manor has been the home of Annabeth of Risevar until very recently. While its glory has faded somewhat in recent years, Lonsley Manor has hosted no shortage of fetes and feasts in past years, with its grand gardens drawing in many visiting nobles and their entourages. The Dillestone family in particular favoured it for summer retreats, and the late King Eadvard III himself stayed here on at least three occasions.
Purpose / Function
As the Baron of Risevar is wont to host many visiting dignitaries and guests, Lonsley Manor was constructed to host them in finer comforts than one might find at a Baron's typical castle holding. Over time, the ruling Barons of Risevar began to spend so much time at Lonsley that they moved their entire courts here, adding in several smaller outbuildings to host the coterie of attendants and courtiers required for day-to-day operations. The castle, a quarter-day's ride away, has seen little use in the way of stately functions since then.
Defenses
Annabeth of Risevar has built a small barracks on the property to host her household guard. A small wall surrounds the Manor, but it is more decorative than defensible.
History
During The Tambar Rebellion, several attempts were made by the rebels to seize Lonsley. The first two were bloodily repelled, but the third managed to breach the manor's courtyard and front door. More than half of the soldiers that stood in Annabeth's defence died that day, but the manor was not taken and Annabeth's life was spared.
After Risevar was retaken from the rebels, Lonsley was one of the first places King Eadvard III visited to assess the damage done by the Tambarists.
