The Anvil
A stern mountain fortress overlooking Tatcher's Pass. Seat of power for the Baron of Tatcher , and home to Beltran and Edda Dillestone.
Purpose / Function
When iron was discovered within the Backbone of Banteave, a series of border forts were constructed to ward the mountain passes leading to them, lest Ostamber seek to claim them for themselves. Many border fortifications have risen and fallen over the centuries, but the Anvil remains one of the most longstanding.
Defenses
The Anvil employs heavy stone walls, reinforced portcullises, a well-stocked larder, a large garrison and multiple siege weapons situated upon its high towers. Any approaching The Anvil hoping for a brisk, boring siege will quickly find their ambitions dashed. The Anvil has withstood many attackers, most recently an ill-fated attempt by The Tambarists to seize it.
