Sapphire Isles
The isles consist of the home of the capitol; Lord's Isle that has, since its colonization, been led by a Jarl from the Blackfist family
AnCrach Isle that has been led by the AnCrach clan
Gem Isle led by the Valthiem clan
Fyke Isle led by the Sheridan clan
Spike Isle led once by the Lugos clan until they died out and after a few false starts, while the battlemage school and airship depot were starting on the island, is now led by the Karakas clan of Salamanders
Once a group of independent tribes, they were convinced into joining the young Empire of Randgriz, but with some level of self governing each of the island leaders would meet to declare a new lord of the isles upon the last one's death of abdication. They were used for manpower in the Caeladonia-Randgriz war.
The Ascended Heroes under orders of Adam Faera went to the island to establish diplomatic relations. They assisted both Anna Blackfist and her brother on their missions to assist the other Jarls of the islands. The assistance helped them convince the Lord of the Isles Davos An Crach to secede from the Empire.
Several years later Davos died from what would later be revealed as the Dwarven Plague. A moot was called to declare the new leader which the Ascended Heroes attended. It was attacked by several were creatures killing several nobles and Lord-hopefuls. The Ascended Heroes allied with Anna Blackfist to find the culprit who turned out to be the widow of Davos, attempting to ensure her son was given the crown. In light of this news, and her role in finding the truth, Anna Blackfist was named the first female Lord of the Isles.
Many years later Anna assisted Adam Faera in establishing ships and a team for an expedition past the wall of storms surrounding the land. While some zealots attempted to sabotage the efforts the ships launched from Lord's Isle on their doomed journey. Months later, three survivors teleported home.
Since the time of Anna Blackfist, the isles have seen a lord in Calem Valthiem, Lord Karakas who's bid for Lord had seen strong public support partially due to the already unorthodox leadership the Isles had seen in those years.
