Liberus

Infrastructure

It was once a walled city on a river with a castle turned temple on a small connected island, now it us dominated by a massive crater and the city stands as a dangerous ruin.

History

It was once the largest city in the world. Founded as Titanus it was the first capital of Caeladonia and the seat of power on Loredas. It lost its status as a capital when the crown moved to the City of Glass and the palace was converted to a temple of the Church of Pseales.   The people of the city were alerted to the conspiracy of their leaders selling them out to Vampires by Thaler through secret means. When the news broke, the arcane university magically rose into the air, floating separate from the crown controlled ground, symbolically stating their secession from tyranny. Riots ran through the streets ending in the succession of the city as its own city-state and changing its name to Liberus.   The city began to prosper and establish strong trade deals with other kingdoms that wished to harm Caeladonia further. Several attempts were made to bring the economically important city back into the fold before deciding that destroying it would be the only option. A massive ritual was conducted at the Temple of Pseales with two of the surviving Weavesses to strike at the Arcane University, dropping it onto the city below killing tens of thousands and breaking a massive crater into the ground.   The ruined city stood as the final point that the corrupted demons were entering Loredas, and so Thaler's Enforcers entered the city and fought the corrupted form of St. Edward, a saint of Pseales, striking down the corruption on Loredas at the same time that the Ascended Heroes struck the core of the corruption in The Aether.
