Caliban
Weaver of Fate
The draconic figurehead affixed firmly to the bow of a massive battleship tears through the waves towards a massive sea serpent. Armored figures stand at the ready on the deck, priming cannons, listening to the calls of a figure dressed in a robe of stars. Intangible and invisible, they pluck at the red thread. With a single command, the cannons fire and the serpent roars. An old woman shuffles a deck of cards, selecting three. Through the cards she channels the power of fate, deciphering the future and offering much needed guidance. From atop the tallest mountain in the West, Caliban watches over the night sky, the ebb and flow of the tides, and the constant push and pull of fate. The Weaver of Fate is often regarded as a choosy god, bestowing his direct insight only to a select few: his Oracles. Often depicted as a humanoid with skin reminiscent of stars or a khalashtar man, often dressed in robes lined with silver jewelry of the stars and phases of the moon. However, it is said that Caliban appears as however the viewer imagines him. Although the most well known of Caliban's clergy is the High Oracle, there are many formally named Oracles, diviners, and traveling "mystics" that receive the ability to weave the red threads of fate.
Oracles and Diviners
The most notable members of Caliban's religious order are his Oracles: mortals blessed with some ability to read and alter the threads of fate. In the distant past, Caliban's Temple was filled with perhaps a hundred Oracles. While the Temple has since been rebuilt, those blessed with a true gift to weave the red thread are still few in number. Many of the current Oracles serve as Diviners within the ranks of the Moon Guard, assigned to battleships to guide their course in battle. Above all Oracles and Diviners, however, is the High Oracle – conduit of Caliban himself. Despite their ability to perceive what is to come and what could be, the gift of prophecy is often as much of a curse to an Oracle as a blessing. For on occassions, it seems impossible to untangle the red threads that spread out before them.
Notable Oracles: Moira Caliban (of the Deep End), Ayumi Caliban (rider of Andromeda), and Dysis Caliban.
Ladies of the Stars
When the Old District fell into disarray after the Dread King's War, many religious groups disbanded, but the Ladies of the Stars remained. Despite lack of funding and limited resources, the Ladies of the Stars strived to provide a home for all those who were abandoned or fleeing dire circumstances in the New District. With the return of the Greatwyrms and the re-emergence of Caliban, the Ladies of the Stars became the primary religious order within the Temple of Caliban. Their most notable leader was Yue, who served briefly as High Oracle before being the second High Oracle in history to personally pass on the mantle before her death.

Artifacts
Shield of the Oracles – On the rare occasion where the High Oracle must enter battle, Caliban has bestowed a magical shield, emblazoned with the visage of the Lunar Queen, Philphrosyne. Imbued with the strength of Oracles past, the shield was last wielded by Moira Caliban at the Battle of the Barrier.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The Moonstone gemstone, a starry sky, a winding path, the North star, clock or moon-dial, dream-catcher, red thread.
Tenets of Faith
Tides of Fate – Like the ebb and flow of the tides, so too does fate drift and sway, lapping at the ankles of the mortals that walk on the shores of life. It is an unstoppable, eternal, and inevitable process, but it is not without pattern and it is not without a master. For the tides are servants of the moon. Thus, pieces of fate can be deciphered and interpreted by followers of Caliban who are willing to seek the knowledge and power to channel the flow of fate. Those with the dedication and will may one day seize the red thread and weave it at their whim.
Storms of Fate – Like a tumultuous storm upon the seas, fate can be unpredictable and violent, crashing upon the shores and destroying the livelihood of mortals. It is an unbridled source of energy and power. While mortals may learn to wield and weave it, they can also be consumed by it. These storms may be a guiding light, providing direction to the lost, but if the young weaver of fate is not careful, their fate may overwhelm them, tangling them in such a way amidst the red threads that they will never escape.

History
Long ago, when Dysis was still serving as the High Oracle, she and Caliban would drink sake under the moonlight. They would talk of all matters and affairs as they watched the tides come in. Now, after thinking he had lost his close friend for 1,000 years, Dysis and Caliban remain friends, albeit still incredibly physically distant.
