Eleikar Town
The golden light of the day's end dapples across the autumn treetops and wooden rooves of the small hunting village. Small wooden towers begin to be lit up with torches and bonfires in preparation for the coming night. People carrying hunting snares, caught game, and wooden pieces of furniture make their way to their homes for the night. The darkness gathers, and the people of Eleikar Town head to sleep.
A wolf's howl pierces the night. Welcome to the gateway to the wild North.
Defences
The city mostly uses the defensive structure of the Frostward to keep itself safe from major threats and relies on its network of soldiers and rangers to protect itself from interior or regional threats. It has a large contingent of guards attached to it, more than most other towns of its size.
Industry & Trade
The city is mostly known for its lumber trade. The wood of the Valley is well-known for its sturdiness and its light colour, making it highly prized for painted furniture and whittling. That also promotes a strong craftsmanship culture, and mills and carpenters can be found all over the town.
Guilds and Factions
The town contains many crafting guilds and carpenters' associations, each contributing to the city's political landscape. There are also the smaller nearby village, tended by the Kilas family, as well as the usual trappings of any large Gratic town (Imperial Army, Imperial Temple, College of Mages, and Thieves' Collective members, among others).
History
Eleikar Town was founded near the beginning of the Gratic Empire's hegemony in the area. It has remained a small town up until the Empire consolidated its grip in the region and constructed the Frostward. It then became the main stopping-over point between it and the rest of the Valley, growing very slowly with each generation. Weathering the difficulties of the Red Rose War and then the slow decay of the Empire's power in the area, the town has stayed steady in times of trouble.
Architecture
Log cabins are the major housing in the city. Rough-hewn timber kept together with nails is the basis of most major buildings, with most planks and more ornate woodwork reserved for temples or their customers throughout Endaman. Other buildings tend to be circular or octagonal in structure; many scholars believe these to be architectural styles from the pre-Empire period.
Natural Resources
Located within a large forest, lumber and woodland resources are incredibly plentiful. The ground here is not ideal for farming due to the dense clay-like soil, but the woodlands are filled with game and edible shrubs. The nearby lakes and rivers provide the city with fish and water fowl to add to the city's food supplies.

Demographics
The city has a large number of Frost Dwarves and Brute Dwarves, creating a very varied cityscape.Government
The city has a Magistrate like other Empire towns. However, a significant amount of power is also concentrated in the hands of the influential Kilas family, who have a manor at the edge of town. The two influences often butt heads over certain elements of the city's governance, but not gravely or dangerously so.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
