After Karyn was abducted and Kyn was killed (and Perle and the other guards showed no pity), the heroes of New Frontier became suspicious of Perle. At Bigheaven Red cast Detect Magic and learned that they all carried magical items that thrummed with Transmutation energy.
The party killed the "humans" and learned that they were all draconians. Perle escaped undetected.
