Session 58 - Resistance
General Summary
After defeating most of the slaad in Timberfall, Professor Black, the rest of the students and the Ring of Thornes were summoned to Kaverna Proklet. As the school began to set up, Professor Onai requested that the Party stay for a few days to help a bit more. As Lat’num needed a day to prepare another Teleportation Circle ritual anyway, they decided to stay a day.
Gorgoroth negotiated with the sailors docked outside of Timberfall and convined Captain Sevda or the Yellow Fir and captain Kezszhil Waverunner of the Wet Bulette to keep their ships docked until they could be searched for slaad tadpoles. Unfortunately, the Hangy Witch set sail without an inspection.
S’thom and Red worked together to examine the townsfolk. They discovered that one of the millers was a slaad in disguise. S’thom wanted to capture him, but Red attacked and killed the beast.
Ifrit struggled to liason with the locals, who were scared after the slaad investation.
Lat’num took his time to investigate the broken warforged near Becky. With the help of Professor Hecat and one of the older students, they were able to activate 8 warforged guardians.
That night, Professor Onai gave a presentation to the assembly. Bartemous, one of the older students was graduating. Luv, one of the dwarf teenagers from Timberfall, was joining the school. Onai told them about the school’s history and of the legacy of Io.
Prismatica Luminaire was started by a follower of Bahamut, the descendant of the great dragon Io and brother to Tiamat. He told them of Tiamat’s plan to rule the world under the guise of the Queen Mother. The school studied the Wheel of Time, a celestial clock made out of stars. Since Bahamut was killed, the clock has been slowing. Onai told the students that there were 16 artifacts that could resurrect Bahamut and save the world. Perhaps one of them would find one.
Danilo introduced himself to the kids and told them that he and his team were allied with the school and with Bahamut. He told them about his hometown Brindol and how he feared for other small towns across the land. The others in the Ring told their stories as well. Each one had a reason to hate the Queen Mother and to fight the COMPMOD
The Party waited quietly. Gorgoroth finally spoke up and told them that they too had reasons to want to overthrow the Queen Mother. He didn’t mention any of the Hexabeyance.
They all breathed a little easier. The Resistance was growing.
Later that night Gorgoroth used Erathis' Charter’ to study the Winds of Change, an artifact that Danilo wanted to find in Txanponetan.
Gorgoroth believed that the Winds of Change might be one of the Hexabeyance, possibly Herbst, the seed of Autumn. It had once been used to power the great dragonborn flying citadel of Ustraternes, which belonged to the Golden One. During the Arkhosian-Turathi Wars, the citadel crashed somewhere in the Golden Savannah.
