Strikeforce Danforth

Strikeforce Danforth is the military formation assembled by Inquisitor Danforth Laertes to be used as his de facto private army. While his Inquisitorial Mandate grants him authority over any and all military forces, the Strikeforce exists as a permanent formation ready to go at any time. It is normally based on La Pucelle, although elements often detach themselves and return to other bases for supply and recruitment.

Inquisitorial Strikeforces

Many Inquisitors assemble a armed cadre around them, of varying size and either on an ad hoc or more permanent basis. If such formations are primarily military (rather than civil, militia or law-enforcement) and of a sufficient size with at least a semi-formalized command structure, they are commonly referred to as "Strikeforces".
A Strikeforce is normally named after the Inquisitor who assembled it, taking their name from the Inquisitor's surname (Strikeforce Smith etc.) However, because of the high-number of senior Imperial Adepts (including Inquisitors) with the surname Laertes (thanks to the practice on Ophelia VII of orphans being adopted into the family of the Cardinal-Governor and such children receiving rigorous and high-quality education and formation which often results in them achieving high rank), it is rare to encounter a "Strikeforce Laertes". In these cases, one of which is Inquisitor Danforth Laertes, the first name is used.
