Basuron Lovak was born the second son of a powerful Raskan house. He had a talent for conflict management and soon rose to a position of power in the government of Shrask, serving the Emperor as a envoy and diplomat. After the death of the Emperor in the Demon War, he was named Mogai of External Affairs and was instrumental in the creation of the Western Coalition; helping to keep the less agreeable members focused on the task at hand. For his service, he was ritually castrated and married to the Empress, as she had already produced the royal heir.
