Tain's Reign

Political event

2827MA
2867MA

Tain, firstborn son of Yoular rules Youk Kingdom until he dies of illness in 2867 at the age of 82. His reign saw an era of peace and prosperity fueled by profitable trade with neighboring nations and the Western Dwarves of the mountains within the kingdom. The wealth of this trading was disproportionately divided, the lion's share going to the northern region growing Youk and Tain as the nations largest and most prosperous cities.

Tain succeeded his father as King of Youk Kingdom at the age of 42 in 2827. His reign of 40 years saw no major wars and only minor rebellions. He made many trading deals with the Western Dwarf kings of the mountains within Prost Forest, as well as with nations far and wide. He traded food and lumber to the Dwarves in exchange for metals and gemstones. He then exported the metals to other nations in exchange for wealth. This abundance of trade made many wealthy and soon the northern regions closer to the mountains were bustling with activity, swell8ng the size of Youk and Tain, the settlement that was built at Tain's direction. He and his court would winter in Tain in the latter years of his rule.   In the winter of 2867, Tain passed away due to age related illness at his winter home in Tain.  He left behind vast wealth and an afflicted heir to deal with the worst unrest the kingdom had faced since the Ostier Rebellion.
