Fateweaver

Fateweaver

Weapon

Very Rare Requires attunement by a creature with the Mystra's Grace feature

A gift from Mystra, Goddess of Magic, this thread of pure white light is coiled around your heart. As a free action, you can pull it out, forming any simple or martial weapon of your choosing. Regardless of attunement, it's a +2 magical weapon. Fateweaver can also be pulled out in the form of a spellcasting focus, doing so grants you +2 to your spell attack bonus. If Fateweaver is attuned to a creature that has the Mystra's Grace feature, they gain the following additional benefits. Fateweaver cannot be used as long as Mystra's Grace has been expended.   Spellbound Edge: While this item is pulled out, you can use a bonus action to charge it with arcane energy. Fateweaver keeps this benefit until the end of your next turn. While the weapon is charged, your next successful melee or ranged attack within 30ft of you deals an extra 1d6 force damage. Additionaly, the target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw (using your spell save as the DC) or be unable to cast spells until the end of its next turn. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.   Bonded Fate: As a bonus action, you can establish a bond with an ally you touch, linking your fates. For the next minute, either you or your bounded ally can use a reaction to invoke one of the following effects:
  • Fate's Favor: Grant the other person advantage on any saving throw they are about to make.
  •
  • Fate's Inspiration: Bestow upon the other person a burst of motivation. They gain advantage on their next skill check.
  •
  • Fate's Surge: You take damage equal to your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. The other person is healed by that same amount. The damage taken or gained cannot be prevented in any way.
Using an effect ends the bond. You can establish a bond a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. If either participant falls unconscious, the bond remains but can only be activated by the conscious party.
