Layer 88 - The Abyssal Sea

The Abyssal Sea is a vast, never-ending expanse of churning, putrid water that extends far beyond the sight of mortals. This plane is ruled by the demon lord Demogorgon, a terrifyingly powerful creature whose twisted and perverse form is a manifestation of the Sea itself.

The waters of the Abyssal Sea are black as tar and stink of decay, brimming with all manner of disgusting and dangerous creatures. Huge krakens, vicious sharks, and other monstrous sea beasts patrol the depths, hunting any unwary travelers foolish enough to venture into their territory. The Sea also teems with smaller, but no less dangerous, creatures such as schools of razor-toothed fish and swarms of bloodthirsty eels.

One of the most notorious features of the Abyssal Sea are the Whirlpools of Demogorgon, enormous maelstroms that spin endlessly in the roiling waters. These whirlpools can be miles wide, and the currents within are strong enough to pull entire ships beneath the waves. Rumors persist of whole cities, ships, and even planes sucked into the abyssal depths of the Sea.

Demogorgon himself resides within his palace at the heart of the Abyssal Sea, an enormous and grotesque structure made entirely of coral, bone, and other organic material. His palace is said to be home to countless horrors, including the Sea's most dangerous and monstrous denizens.

Travelers who venture into the Abyssal Sea do so at great risk, for the dangers within are many and deadly. However, for those who are brave enough to seek out the Sea's secrets and treasures, the rewards can be great indeed. It is said that the Abyssal Sea holds secrets and artifacts that are of immense power, and many have journeyed there seeking to claim these treasures for themselves. But most who enter this plane never return, and their fates are left to the dark and twisted whims of Demogorgon.
