Serril Velassir
Serril Velassir was a Keeper of Lineage. He was a man who was deeply committed to the duties of The Order of the Keepers, which involved guarding and imprisoning a Bhaalspawn (a person with the essence of the god Bhaal ) for their entire life. He was willing to go to great lengths to fulfill this duty, including imprisoning his own sister for over 20 years to force her to fulfill her role as a female Keeper. Despite this, it seemed that he deeply regretted this decision and felt conflicted about the duties of the Keepers.
Eventually, Serril learned that he had failed to keep the Bhaalspawn imprisoned, and he felt that he had let down his duty and his family. He committed suicide, feeling that he had nothing left to live for. The duties of the Keepers of Lineage were quite strict and involved a significant amount of sacrifice. Male members were required to guard the Bhaalspawn with their lives and were not allowed to interact with them or reveal any information about them to anyone.
Female members had additional duties, including reproducing with the Bhaalspawn every 290 years in order to ensure the continued captivity of the Bhaalspawn's offspring. The child produced through this reproduction was also kept in captivity for their entire life, and the mother was not allowed to spend time with the child once it had inherited the essence of Bhaal.
Serril's nephew, Vaan TalVo-Velassir , inherited his house located in Norbury , where both Valia and the Bhaalspawn had been imprisoned for decades.
